Backpack for those who are Visually Impaired

Backpack for Visually Impaired/Blind
September 22nd-23rd, 2026

Step into the wild with confidence and connection on this Overnight Backpacking Adventure—designed especially for individuals who are visually impaired. With trained human guides supporting participants, we will walk slowly and thoughtfully, exploring gentle, level terrain with  senses wide open to our surroundings.  We provide all gear, meals, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where safety and belonging come first.  We will be backpacking on the Miller Trail in the Loyalsock Tate Forest, exploring just a 1/2 mile of this level, grassy trail to our campsite next to the beautiful Hessler branch (stream).  We will have assistance for navigating the trail and camp set up.  Enjoy an evening in the forest where we will enjoy a meal and time around the campfire.  Each person will have an individual tent.

Before we hit the trail, join us for a pre-trip Zoom session to meet your guides, ask questions, and get excited. Whether you're new to backpacking or a seasoned explorer, this journey is crafted to empower, uplift, and inspire. Cost for this trip is reduced to $125 per person.  However, Deep Green Journey is committed to ensuring that anyone who would like to join us for a backpacking experience is able to do so. Every trip offers scholarships and a variety of pricing options to provide accessibility to all.
